The Beeches celebrate employees at long service awards

At The Beeches, we recently praised 20 of employees who are clocking up 243 years of service between them. We have formed a 20-person strong dedicated care team since the care home was set up in Ixworth in 1985.

Some longest-standing members include Angela Wade, Home Manager, Ruth Skelhorn, Cook and Wendy Ainsley, Care Worker.

Bev Shave, our Deputy Home Manager at the Beeches has worked at the home for the last 16 years. She said: “We are very proud of our amazing care team here at The Beeches. We have such tremendously committed members of staff which is brilliant.

“The stability of our staff helps us build trusted relationships and deliver a consistent level of care. Our residents are very dear to us and at the heart of everything we do at the home. Having such a committed team means that we are able to provide the very best levels of care!”

“Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the care sector has faced recruitment and retention challenges. However, we’re proud to have a very friendly, professional team who have worked together for a number of years.  We offer support and career opportunities to our colleagues which makes us an employer of choice in the local area.”

Laura Jackson has also worked at The Beeches since 2010 and has had great career progression over the last 12 years. Laura said: “When I first started at The Beeches, I had no idea I would still be here all these years later.  I was nearly 16 when I started as a kitchen assistant, and have since then transitioned into care. In 2018 I was promoted to be a senior care worker at the home.”

“Working in care is such a fulfilling career. Having a supportive and committed team around you makes it even better!”

We are pleased to be welcoming new residents to the home, and we are looking for more committed care workers to join our ranks. At The Beeches, we have procedures in place to continue to support families who are looking for care for a loved one, whilst minimising the risk for residents and staff.
