Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend

The past month has been a very busy and exciting time for residents and staff at The Beeches Residential Home!

Our residential care home in Ixworth provides both nursing and dementia care for residents. Our care team works hard to make everyday life at the home enjoyable and comfortable for the residents, ensuring they have an excellent quality of life.

From the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee to birthday celebrations, let’s have a look at what’s been celebrated at The Beeches over the last few weeks….

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations

There was much excitement in the home during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend.

Residents and staff at the home joined together to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 70 years of service to the United kingdom and the Commonwealth. Everyone joined in to decorate the home for the occasion, hanging up bunting, balloons and flags.

Many of our residents at The Beeches have lived through The Queen’s reign and we are all in awe of the Queen’s dedication and service to this country and Commonwealth.

The few days were filled with lots of singing, games and laughter! Residents particularly enjoyed dressing up in union jack hats and posing for pictures with our Queen Elizabeth cut out.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the celebration!

Birthday celebrations

In the last month, we celebrated two wonderful residents, Jean and Pam’s birthdays!

The staff and residents came together for the occasions to sing and eat a lot of homemade birthday cake from The Beeches! We were able to celebrate Pam’s 78th Birthday and Jean’s 86th birthday in true Beeches style!

Summer is here!

With the summer months now upon us, residents have been making the most of the beautiful warm weather by spending more time outdoors. Whether that is spending time with Jack and Jill, our resident goats, doing a crossword puzzle in the sun or admiring the garden.

We hope the warm weather is here to stay!
