From garden activities to celebrations, here’s what we have been up to

With lockdown restrictions easing, we have been making the most of every minute by keeping busy with lots of activities at The Beeches Residential Home.

As a home that promotes an active lifestyle, our care staff have been organising a number of fun activities. With the welcome of the Summer sunshine, we have been able to spend more time in our garden with even more visits from loved ones.

Garden Renovation

As a home that loves exploring the outdoors and getting green-fingered, renovating our beloved garden has been one of our favourite activities to be involved in recently.

With a few of the resident’s bedrooms backing onto the courtyard, residents have been involved in the weeding and maintenance of their new garden. Acting as a nice heat spot when the sun is shining, residents can now unwind in the garden by enjoying the flora and fauna this summer.

Celebrations

As a Grade ll listed home that supports a small community of 44 residents, this means we have had a lot to celebrate over the last few months.

From 80th to 90th birthdays, passing our CQC inspection and our care staff leaving for new ventures, the celebrations have been endless.

This past year we have relied so heavily on our wonderful care staff to ensure that life in our home has remained as comfortable and sociable as possible.

We just want to say a big thank you and goodbye to Lisa, as we wish her every success in her new venture of becoming a teacher.

Game Activities

No matter what your age is, everyone loves games. Here at The Beeches Residential Home, we have a whole range of activities to suit all abilities.

One of our favourite games we love to play weekly is an entertaining and slightly competitive round of bingo.

Cards, board games and even puzzles are great for our residents who may have mobility issues, but it is also a fantastic way to keep the mind active!

Visitations

In light of the recent Government guidance, as of 19 July, all our visiting guidance is remaining the same here at The Beeches Residential Home. While visits are taking place indoors, we still strongly encourage outdoor visits.

From all of us at The Beeches, we wanted to thank you all so much for your patience and understanding during these challenging times particularly over the past year and we very much look forward to welcoming you back to our home.

We are still welcoming new residents and have clear procedures in place to be able to do this safely.
