We are delighted to announce that we passed our Infection Control Inspection with flying colours, following an inspection by the CQC.
The Beeches Residential care home was visited by the independent regulator of all health and social care in England, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for an inspection in February 2021 to review their infection control with COVID-19, and to monitor and inspect all health and care services.
Our Ixworth care home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 40 people who require 24-hour support and care, was commended by the CQC for its efficiency in controlling the COVID-19 infection. The report stated, “The home had purchased adequate amounts of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure that staff could protect themselves and people living in the home.”
Taking place earlier in the year before visiting was permitted. The CQC found that “Staff recognised that people missed contact with their friends and relatives and had continued to deliver a full programme of activities to cheer people’s mood.”
Angela Wade, Registered Manager of The Beeches Residential Home said: “We thrilled that we have passed the CQC Infection Control Inspection with flying colours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, our care staff have worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both other members of staff and residents.
“To have received this accreditation is such a relief and recognition of our ongoing work. As we start to work towards getting back to a new normal, we will continue to remain extremely vigilant in our approach to help protect our staff and residents from Covid-19.”
We have continued to follow government advice which has seen us recently reopen our doors, welcoming loved ones back to the home. This comes weeks after the home has seen residents and staff receive their second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
During the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, we introduced a new visiting pod to allow residents and their loved ones to meet indoors. The visiting pod allows for only two people in the room at once and includes Perspex that sits in between individuals and hand sanitiser stations.
The Beeches Residential Home is a specialist dementia home with a team of dedicated care staff who provide around the clock care for residents.
We are pleased to share we still welcoming new residents to our home and have specific procedures in place and will continue to support families who are looking for care for a loved one
