Residents at The Beeches Enjoy 60’s Themed Garden Party

Our residents made the most of the summer with a hugely successful garden party in the picturesque grounds of our home in Ixworth, Bury St Edmunds.
The Beeches Residential Home was joined by friends, family and the care team for the party. We hosted a day full of music and fun as we welcomed live performances from Elvis. We also enjoyed traditional games and more.

The party provided the perfect blast from the past for our residents. It gave them the chance to relive some of their favourite memories from their younger days. All of our residents took the chance to let their hair down, with many singing and dancing along.

Getting lost in the sounds of Elvis works well as part of the residents’ reminiscence therapy, an activity that can help those with dementia reduce stress and agitation while increasing positive emotions.

Over the course of the festivities, we also hosted a raffle. It helped us to raise a staggering £325 for the resident’s fund. The money will be used for organising new activities and events for individuals at the home to enjoy.

We’d like to take the time to thank everyone involved. From the magical gifts donated to the raffle to everyone who turned up, you all played a part in making the day a triumph!

For anyone who couldn’t make it, we shall be announcing another garden celebration as we celebrate the opening of our new extension.
